In Stock An In Stock item is available to ship normally within 24 business hours.
Preorder A Preorder is an item that has not yet been released. Typically the label will set a projected release date (that is subject to change). If a projected release date is known, we will include this in the description in red. Other Preorders are set to release 'TBA.' This means that release date is yet 'To Be Announced'. The Preorder can be released anywhere between weeks, months or years from its initial announcement.
Backordered An Out Of Stock item is an item that we normally have available to ship but we are temporarily out of. We do not have a specific date when it will be coming.
Awaiting Repress Awaiting repress titles are in the process of being repressed by the label. No ETA is available at this time.
Expected On When an item is Out Of Stock and we have an estimated date when our stock should arrive, we list that date on our website in the part's description. It is not guaranteed.
Special Order A Special Order item is an item that we do not stock but can order from the manufacturer. Typical order times are located within the product description.

The Carbon DBS High Quality RF Noise Trap provides an Exceptionally Low Noise Floor!

AudioQuest's patented Dielectric Bias System (DBS) puts all of a cable's dielectric into a strong, stable electrostatic field which saturates (organizes) the molecules of the insulation...continuously from the time the cable is terminated. The exceptionally simple design uses a wire down the middle of the cable, which is simply an extension of a battery's anode. This wire is attached to negative (-) of a DBS battery pack, and nothing else. It is not in the signal path and has no interaction with the signal. Depending on the model of interconnect (analog or digital) or speaker cable, an existing foil "shield" is used as the DBS anode by connecting it to positive (+) of the DBS battery pack. The negative side of a battery is nothing; it's just an empty reservoir. Again, there is no interaction with signal flow and no extra connections are introduced into the signal path.

AudioQuest offers two different DBS packs: Black DBS and Carbon DBS. Both feature the inclusion of an RF Trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara Series of power products), ensuring that radio frequency noise will not be induced into the signal conductors from the DBS field elements. The Black DBS pack includes a high-quality capacitor as part of its RF Trap circuit. The Carbon DBS pack includes an even higher quality (and costlier) capacitor in its RF Trap circuitry.

Both DBS packs provide an exceptionally low noise floor, but the superior capacitor in the DBS Carbon pack optimizes the RF rejection capacity of DBS to an even higher level. The difference is subtle but meaningfully audible.

AudioQuest's most sophisticated speaker cables and interconnects feature our Dielectric-Bias System in one of two performance categories: Black or Carbon.

Dielectric-Bias System (DBS) with Radio Frequency Trap:
All insulation between two or more conductors is also a dielectric whose properties will affect the integrity of the signal. When the dielectric is unbiased, dielectric-involvement (absorption and non-linear release of energy) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels, which is a real problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. The inclusion of an RF Trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara Series of power products), ensures that radio frequency noise will not be induced into the signal conductors from the DBS field elements.
