In November of 2011, Quarterstick Records released the limited edition box
set—Road Atlas 1998-2011 , a collection of Calexico’s 8 self-released tour
albums in vinyl format for the first time ever (previously only available at
Calexico’s live concerts as CDs). The box set also included a 40 page book of
photos and notes as well as never before released bonus tracks encased in a
screen printed slip case. As described by journalist Fred Mills , “you hold what
the members of Calexico describe as their Road Atlas, and as a kind of alternate
musical history of the band, it makes for quite a trip.” Limited to 1,100 copies
worldwide, the Road Atlas 1998-2011 box set sold out instantly and sent fans
searching the internet and local record shops in hopes of acquiring a copy of
