180 Gram Vinyl! First Vinyl Edition of John Martyn's Last Studio Album!

John Martyn is known as the legendary singer-songwriter, arranger and guitarist that blurred boundaries between folk, rock, jazz & blues. He was a prolific artist, recording twenty studio albums during his career, all of which had a powerful sense of space & expansive approach to melody that define the sound of the British Bard. 'Heaven And Earth' is the last album Martyn was working on before his death in 2009, and was completed by Gary Pollitt & Jim Tullio, two of his closest friends & colleagues.

Featuring Phil Collins on 'Can't Turn Back The Years', this is the first vinyl edition of this phenomenal album.

"The late John Martyn was a legend in British music circles, a phenomenal guitarist and arranger whose influence has been acknowledged by everyone from Bob Marley and Eric Clapton to Brian Eno and the Edge, and whose approach to soundcraft helped lay the foundation for an entire generation of trip-hop artists and DJs. Heaven and Earth is sort of of a tribute album; it consists of unfinished tracks that Martyn was working on at the time of his death in 2009, some of them bluesy, some reggae-inflected or jazzy, but all of them imbued with a powerful sense of space and an expansive approach to melody." - Rick Anderson, allmusic.com
