Nanci Griffith The Last Of The True Believers 24/96 DVD
High Quality 24/96 Digital Audio Disc (DAD) - Audio-ONLY DVD!
Considered one of her best recordings, this haunting 1986 album, brimming with the details of small town life, blends Griffith's Texas country roots with a lighter folk touch and applies them to her intimate tales of leaving home and leaving lovers. Two major concert staples emerged from these sessions: Love at the Five and Dime and Banks of the Pontchatrain. Joining her are the likes of Lyle Lovett, Bela Fleck, Mark O'Connor, Lloyd Green, and a handful of other talented musicians, in what seems like a friendly get-together instead of a formal recording session.
What is a 24/96 DVD? It is a High Quality 24/96 Digital Audio Disc (DAD) (Audio-ONLY DVD!). This disc will play on DVD capable players or DAC's that will output at 24/96. The original analog master tapes are converted to 24-bit/96kHz digital data through a Muse Model Seven A/D converter and a proprietary hard-disk recording system developed by Muse's Kevin Halverson. After the analog signal is encoded and the data stored on the hard drive, post-production "authoring" creates a digital tape called a "DLT," which is then used to produce a glass master, which in turn produces stampers that mold the DADs.
