One of the 20th centurys greatest violinists, David Oistrakh named Sergei Prokofiev among his close friends. This album features the composers two contrasting violin concertos the audacious No. 1, completed in 1917, and the more restrained No. 2, composed in 1935, shortly before Prokofiev returned to Russia.
