Previewing Leonard Bernsteins 100th anniversary and Mischa Maiskys 70th, both in 2018, Deutsche Grammophon presents the 1984/85 recordings of Schumanns 3rd Symphony Rhenish and Cello Concerto with the Wiener Philharmoniker on 180g vinyl. The grandeur of the Rhenish is magnificent, and Bernsteins vision of the Cologne Cathedral in the 4th movement is simply glorious (Fanfare). Mischa Maisky, () plays with great eloquence This is a glorious performance.
