In Stock An In Stock item is available to ship normally within 24 business hours.
Preorder A Preorder is an item that has not yet been released. Typically the label will set a projected release date (that is subject to change). If a projected release date is known, we will include this in the description in red. Other Preorders are set to release 'TBA.' This means that release date is yet 'To Be Announced'. The Preorder can be released anywhere between weeks, months or years from its initial announcement.
Backordered An Out Of Stock item is an item that we normally have available to ship but we are temporarily out of. We do not have a specific date when it will be coming.
Awaiting Repress Awaiting repress titles are in the process of being repressed by the label. No ETA is available at this time.
Expected On When an item is Out Of Stock and we have an estimated date when our stock should arrive, we list that date on our website in the part's description. It is not guaranteed.
Special Order A Special Order item is an item that we do not stock but can order from the manufacturer. Typical order times are located within the product description.

Greater Dynamics, Larger, Better-Defined Soundstage, and Exciting Musicality... Achieve this with The Spiral Groove Strange Attractors!

The Decouple extends the Strange Attractors low frequency effectiveness by adding an elastomer layer to the device. Elastomer layers of varying hardness can be exchanged to address a wide weight range of components or uneven weight distribution within a component. The Decouple is ideal for nonsuspended turntables and is extremely effective for use with speakers in preventing them from energizing a springy floor, thereby eliminating a major source of room coloration. Includes threaded stud for leveling purposes and to maximize energy transfer into the Attractor.

Constructed with a combination of aluminum and graphite, the carefully shaped Spiral Groove Strange Attractor addresses wide band energy that adversely affects audio components. Through high-speed transfer, refraction, dissipation, and sequential boundary reflection, the Strange Attractors put energy into a cycle of decreasing amplitude and rotating phrase, which significantly reduces its effect on the playback of an audio system.

The sonic effect of the Spiral Groove Strange Attractors is a startling reduction in the noise floor, which accrues to greater dynamics, a larger and better-defined soundstage, and a musical ease to the performance that is both relaxing and exciting. They can be placed in the same position as the existing component feet, but experimentation is encouraged of other positions as well. For example, placed directly under a transformer or drive unit may yield a more significant reduction in the noise floor. Alternative support positions for the Strange Attractors under your component may result in superior results, but always keep in mind the stability of the component when choosing where to best place the support.

The goal of the Strange Attractor is multi layered. One is to isolate a component from external energy sources, such as vibrations generated by a component or strong floor vibrations coming from the loudspeakers. These random and chaotic vibrations transfer at a high-speed into the Strange Attractor where, through carefully shaped aluminum and graphite, they refract, dissipate, and reflect off a sequence of boundaries. This puts the vibrational energy into a cycle of decreasing amplitude and rotating phase ultimately transforming it to heat.

The second goal was to treat the resonant behavior of the component itself by providing a path for narrow band chassis resonance to be effectively transferred into the wide band thermal environment of the Strange Attractor. This keeps it out of the audio band and from affecting the music.

The third goal is to reduce the amplitude of the resonance that results from individual components and the rack acting upon each other in the system. This third goal is a bit more complex, but explains the need for the different types of Strange Attractors. When viewing the audio system as a series of coupled oscillators, it becomes clear that different solutions are needed to address each components particular vibrational behavior. There is no "one trick pony" design that will reduce energy transfer, wide band or narrow band, chaotic or non-chaotic, into or out of a component.

"The Strange Attractors lend a tube-like delicacy to the treble while smoothing out the midrange and really cleaning up the bass. In short, they make nothing but improvements... Strange Attractors remove both internal and external sources of vibration, hold your components very, very still, allowing your components to finally deliver all the music in your recordings. The effect is absolutely stunning; background noise vanishes, harshness and hash are banished, revealing a gorgeous tonal purity and dramatic dynamic range." - Andy Schaub, www.positive-feedback.com, July/August 2012
