The Legend Of the Guqin Hybrid Multi-Channel & Stereo SACD
Out of Print! Only 1 copy available!
The Legend of Guqin featuring 9 tracks of traditional Chinese music performed
on the guqin by Shan Kiu. She is accompanied on the album by the Daya Academy
conducted by Nai-Chung Kuan.
As is the case with the recent releases from the FIM label, The Legend of Guqin
features a hard cover album package and liner notes that comes with a plastic
slip cover. It's a very elegant packaging of the album. FIM owner Winston Ma
says that this new Multichannel Super Audio CD is in a league with his company's
SACD of "River of Sorrow" which is well known for its sonics among audiophiles.
According to Ma "The immediate reception of this new album is just phenomenal.
Audiophiles who have bought it have unanimously used it as the yeardstick for
testing dynamics, harmonics and soundstage."
"The Legend of Guqin is FIMs most ambitious marriage of Eastern and Western
musical influences to date. ...Mr. Kuan achieves the seemingly impossible task
of balancing one of the most delicate of traditional Chinese instruments with
its contemporary Western counterparts. The rest of the album is one sublime
musical poem after another recorded with an astonishing level of finesse and
transparency. " - Christophe Chagnard, Conductor of the Northwest
The Legend of Guqin has been nominated by the captioned organization for Horizon Award (Best Newcomer to Surround Sound) at the Third Annual Surround Music Awards! This breath-taking performance and stunning fidelity of sound of this album is a must for any audiophile collection.
