Tim Hugh Hands On Heart: Live At Wigmore Hall CD
Tim Hugh's Hands On Heart is the first of two releases on the new Naim Classical Label. The principle cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra, Tim Hugh is widely regarded as one of the greatest British cellists of the 21st centruy.
In 2005, Steve Hugh, Tim’s older brother, unexpectedly died of a heart attack. This recording was made in November of 2007 amongst the famous acoustics and architecture of the Wigmore Hall in London and the appropriately titled ‘A Concert for Steve’ helped the Hugh family raise funds for the British Heart Foundation charity in his honor. Hands On Heart is both an apt and emotional tribute as well as a poignant collection of mixed classical repertoire for cello and piano including a number of colorful encores such as Rimsky-Korsakov’s "Flight of the Bumblebee" and Faure’s "Apres un Reve."
The concert was recorded and mastered in high resolution 24bit/96kHz digital audio by legendary classical engineer Tony Faulkner and it features original artwork by successful graphic artist Max Franosch.
Naim proudly donates 20% of every disc sold to the British Heart Foundation in the United Kingdom who aim to fight Heart disease with groundbreaking research, vital prevention activity and quality care (www.bhf.org.uk).
