At the height of Beatlemania, much of British TV entertainment was still dependent on old-fashioned variety shows. On July 19th 1964 and August 1st 1965 the Beatles appeared on Blackpool Night Out (the summer version of ITV's hugely popular Big Night Out ). Film of both appearances is lost, but this new release presents the audio in full, together with detailed background notes and rare images.
