Unreleased & Remastered Original Master Concert Recording!
In September 1959 Julian “Cannonball” Adderley left Miles Davis’ band and
established a quintet with his brother, which turned out to be much more
successful than his first one. In November 1960, they set off for their first
European tour as part of Norman Granz’s Jazz at the Philharmonic; the Adderley
quintet was assigned the task of opening the shows. Five months later, they took
the stage as headliners during this 1961 performance!
This live album includes recordings of 1961 performances in Cologne by The
Cannonball Adderley Quintet and the Benny Carter Sextet.
