Newly Discovered Performance!

Elemental Music presents a complete previously unissued quartet performance by the great Dexter Gordon. This fascinating concert finds Gordon at the Subway jazz club in Köln, Germany, on September 11, 1973, playing along Irv Rochlin on piano, Henk Haverhoek on bass, and Tony Inzalaco on drums. This GATEFOLD edition contains rare photographs and special essays by famed jazz producer Michael Cuscuna and by Dexter's widow, Maxine Gordon.

"The force of Dexter's musical personality gives this entire set an uncanny cohesion. Dexter is in full flight." - Michael Cuscuna (September 2018)

"What makes these recordings special is the way Dexter plays live without thinking about the possibility that this would be recorded and eventually released for the world to hear. Hearing him play in these years is an extraordinary gift for us all. Enjoy the music." - Maxine Gordon (October 2018)
