High Quality 24/96 Digital Audio Disc (DAD) - Audio-ONLY DVD!
Originally recorded analog at 30 ips with two microphones in London, this recording of one of Bloch's most magnificent pieces reveals all the nuance and dynamics of this large scale concerto where the piano is integrated into the Orchestral fabric rather than being strictly highlighted. The London Symphony Orchestra is outstanding giving stunning performances of technically difficult compositions. Hold onto your woofers- not to be missed!
What is a 24/96 DVD? It is a High Quality 24/96 Digital Audio Disc (DAD) (Audio-ONLY DVD!). This disc will play on DVD capable players or DAC's that will output at 24/96. The original analog master tapes are converted to 24-bit/96kHz digital data through a Muse Model Seven A/D converter and a proprietary hard-disk recording system developed by Muse's Kevin Halverson. After the analog signal is encoded and the data stored on the hard drive, post-production "authoring" creates a digital tape called a "DLT," which is then used to produce a glass master, which in turn produces stampers that mold the DADs.
