This Classical XRCD24 features the important works of both Ludwig Van Beethoven and Franz Schubert. Beethoven’s 5Th Symphony was written over a period of 4 years and was originally introduced to the public in a performance that included his 6th Symphony and the Choral Fantasy, Op 80. Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony” features 2 moments and originally was given as a gift to the director of the Styrian Music Society, who promptly put the “Unfinished Symphony” away in his desk drawer until his younger brother discovered it many years later.

Charles Munch conducts the Boston Symphony Orchestra on both pieces recorded during the historic years when Classical Music was enjoying tremendous popularity. Remastered using JVCÂ’s patented XRCD24 Process this release is a splendid reproduction of the original sound quality. This XRCD24 makes you feel like you were actually there when this impressive album was recorded.
