The 11th studio album from Judas Priest was released on May 17,1988. The album went gold on July 18, 1988.

Four songs from Ram It Down had been written for a double album concept project that was titled "Twin Turbos". That project was split into two albums, "Turbo" and "Ram It Down". Those four songs are "Ram it Down", "Hard As Iron", "Love You To Death", and "Monsters of Rock".
