A Farewell to Kings is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1977. It was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, and mixed at Advision Studios in London. A Farewell to Kings would become Rush's first US gold-selling album, receiving the certification within two months of its release, and was eventually certified platinum. The singles included “Closer to the Heart” and “Cinderella Man."

Throughout the years 2014 and 2015, Rush celebrate their 40th anniversary with vinyl reissues of albums from their Mercury era. The titles "Fly By Night," "A Farewell To Kings," and "Signals" are also issued on Blu-Ray Pure Audio.

"On 1977's A Farewell to Kings it quickly becomes apparent that Rush had improved their songwriting and strengthened their focus and musical approach...A Farewell to Kings successfully built on the promise of their breakthrough 2112, and helped broaden their audience." -Greg Prato, allmusic.com
