180g Vinyl Double LP on Silver Vinyl! Remastered from Original Tapes!

Robocop is a cult '80s action movie. Directed by “Enfant terrible,” Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct, Total Recall…), and starring Peter Weller, Robocop tells the story of a terminally wounded cop in a dystopic and crime-ridden Detroit who returns to the force as a powerful cyborg haunted by submerged memories.

Robocop features an amazing score by Basil Poledouris (Conan The Barbarian, The Hunt For Red October…). Poledouris used both synthesized and orchestral music as a mirror to the man-versus-machine theme of the movie. The score alternates brass-heavy material, including the RoboCop theme and ED-209's theme, with more introverted pieces for strings, such as during RoboCop's homecoming scene. The music was performed by the Sinfonia of London, conducted by Howard Blake and Tony Britten. This re-release of the soundtrack features the entire score remastered for the occasion from the original tapes!

"...some of the composer's best work can be found on the soundtrack to Paul Verhoeven's 1987 sci-fi revenge romp, Robocop...the tone is dark, oozing metropolitan seediness awash in midnight rain. When the theme is reduced to a quiet lament, like on the masterful "Betrayal," the composer's love for his protagonist is evident, an element that's sadly missing from many of the genre's original scores." -James Christopher Monger, allmusic.com
