Newly Remastered for Blue Note 75th Anniversary Vinyl!

"Empyrean Isles" is an album by Herbie Hancock, recorded in 1964. “Empyrean Isles” was Hancock’s fourth album for Blue Note and features Freddie Hubbard on cornet. This release debuts two of Hancock's most treasured songs, “One Finger Snap” and “Cantaloupe Island.”

This title is newly remastered for vinyl as part of an overall Blue Note 75th anniversary vinyl reissue campaign spearheaded by current Blue Note Records President, Don Was.

"Hancock pushes at the borders of hard bop, finding a brilliantly evocative balance between traditional bop, soul-injected grooves, and experimental, post-modal jazz...That passion informs all of Empyrean Isles, a record that officially established Hancock as a major artist in his own right."
