As part of the vinyl Verve collections, the Stan Getz boxed set contains a selection of his best-loved albums on 180g vinyl in sleeves that replicate the original artwork. Contained in the set are the albums Jazz Samba (1962), Big Band Bossa Nova (1962), Jazz Samba Encore! (1963), Getz/Gilberto (1963), and Stan Getz With Guest Artist Laurindo Almeida (1963).

Stan Getz, an American jazz saxophonist, performed in bebop and cool jazz groups. Influenced by João Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim, he popularized bossa nova in America with the hit single "The Girl from Ipanema" (1964).
