Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time - "Killing Me Softly With His Song" - Rated 369/500

180g Vinyl Mastered From Original Analog 2-Track Album Master & Pressed at RTI!

A mellow-soul masterpiece featuring the three-time Grammy winning single "Killing Me Softly With His Song". The title track from Flack's fifth album took home the 1974 Grammy Award for Record of the Year.

Roberta Flack is known for her work in jazz, r&b, soul and folk music. Some of her best-known songs include the Grammy winning "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (1973 Record of the Year) and "Killing Me Softly With His Song" (1974 Record of the Year) and lost out to Stevie Wonder's Innervisions for 1974's Album of the Year.

Robert Flack was such an excellent pianist that Howard University awarded her a full music scholarship at the young age of 15 years old - one of the youngest students ever to enroll there. Her major was eventually changed from piano to voice.

"Her voice touched, tapped, trapped, and kicked every emotion I've ever known. I laughed, cried, and screamed for more...she alone had the voice." - An excerpt by Les McCann from liner notes for Flack's debut album "First Take"

180g vinyl cut from the original analog masters with original die-cut LP packaging replicated to the finest detail! Manufactured with more care than ever!

"Flack creates a dramatic tension that keeps her songs taut and she moves through them with the careful grace of a tightrope artist." - Rolling Stone, 1973

"Inspired by a Don McLean gig at L.A.'s Troubadour, folk singer Lori Lieberman took her idea for the song [Killing Me Softly] to Gimbel and Fox. Flack later heard Lieberman’s recording on an in-flight radio station and 'absolutely freaked,' she said." - Rolling Stone
