Sheik Yerbouti was the first album to be released on Zappa's own label, Zappa Records.

The title is a play on words, pronounced "Shake Your Booty". The 1979 album became Zappa's biggest selling album worldwide.

Remastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering using the original 1/4" EQ Reference analog tape created by Bob Ludwig & FZ , the album was pressed by Furnace Record Pressing.
