Limited Edition Multi-Color Splatter Vinyl LP!
1971 Solo Album by Deep Purple's Jon Lord!
Featuring Albert Lee + Deep Purple Bandmates Ian Paice & Roger Glover!
Dark Horse Records proudly reissues the first solo album from Jon Lord, best known as keyboardist and co-founder of Deep Purple. This limited-edition pressing on multi-color splatter vinyl reproduces the original 1971 gatefold artwork.
After the 1969 classic rock fusion Concerto for Group and Orchestra, Jon Lord was commissioned to write a follow-up. This was Gemini Suite, five long movements inspired by the members of Deep Purple and first performed live in September 1970 at the Royal Festival Hall with the Light Music Society Orchestra. Jon Lord then recorded it in the studio as his first solo project in 1971, with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Malcolm Arnold and soloists drawn from the rock world — guitarist Albert Lee, Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice, singers Yvonne Elliman and Tony Ashton, and Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover.
